March 20th, 2016, Austin, TX : Lone Star Field Hockey’s first FUNdamental Field Hockey Beginner Clinic took place on a brisk but sunny Sunday morning this past weekend. Twenty kids ranging in age from 6 to 13, including 7 boys, came along to try out a game that was new to all of them and is largely new to Austin as well. Some had parents who had previously played but none had ever held a hockey stick. At the end of a 2 hour clinic all were able to participate in a Fun Scrimmage, with many showing a surprising command of the game and most importantly there were smiles all around. Thanks to USAFH and Harrow Sports for providing the equipment that allowed us to hold this clinic and thanks to our volunteer coaches who made it such a success.
We look forward to our next FUNdamental Field Hockey Beginner Clinic on April 3rd.
