Lone Star is delighted to announce that Adam Falla has taken on a full-time role within the club as its General Manager and Head of Coaching. Adam has massive coaching and playing experience and has worked with the club since its inception both as a Board Member and as a part-time volunteer coach for many years. His credentials include having played division one hockey in the UK, having coached the US Men’s O50 Masters world cup team in Barcelona in 2018, and being the founder of Vital Hockey (an online hockey skills training company).
The General Manager role is a full-time position reporting to club President Ali Murdoch and will see Adam tasked with continuing to grow Lone Star in its core bases of Austin and Dallas as well as extending player participation from San Antonio and Oklahoma City.
Club President Ali Murdoch said “We are absolutely delighted to have Adam transition into this full-time position and are excited to see how he can grow our club while continuing with our central themes of “hockey for life” and “for the love of the game.” With both an adults and a kids section, Lone Star is modelled on the European club approach; our adult members support the development of our younger players through coaching contributions and guidance. We are proud to have Adam continue to build on these core values.”
Adam, who first lifted a stick with his Dad in his native Guernsey at the tender age of four and who’s own daughter Isla is already wandering around with a hockey stick at age two, has been a lifelong player and coach. He has said he is “very excited to build on the amazing foundations that has been set by Ali & Una Murdoch and continue the rapid growth of Lone Star Field Hockey. Hockey continues to give me so much in life and I hope to be able to enable more players to feel the same.”
