Tournaments
Tournaments fall into two categories :
1. Local Texas Tournaments/Play Days
We offer local tournaments/play days in Texas for players of all experience levels. No tryouts are required to play at these events and they are focused primarily at our younger age groups (U10 U12, U14) who we feel are still learning the sport and should not incur the expense involved in playing for Travel Teams at National events. The focus is on having fun.
Texas Tournaments/Play Days for U10, U12, U14 players may include :
- Pride Columbus Day Tournament Houston
- Lone Star Fall 7-a-side Tournament in November
- Lone Star Winter Indoor Tournament Dallas in Feb
2. Travel Team Tournaments
Lone Star Travel Teams also participates in a number of National and Regional Tournaments each season. Participation on our travel teams is by tryout or coach invitation. Playing on a Travel Team requires an additional time commitment from players as there are additional practices scheduled to prepare for Tournaments.
Travel Team Tournaments may include :
- The National Hockey Festival over Thanksgiving for U12, U14/U16/U19,
- NFHCA Winter Escape Showcase in Jan (High School Players only)
- The Regional & National Indoor Tournaments in February/March for U14/U16/U19,
- Stanford University Hockey 6’s in April for U12, U14, U16 & U19
- AIM 7v7 in St. Louis in April for U12, U14, U16 & U19
- The Regional and National Club Championships in Spring/Summer for U14/U16/U19.
