Lonestar Men Finish with Bronze in first National Championships Bid

A great first competitive tournament for the Lonestar Men. Finished with 3rd place and an impressive 3-0 win over eventual champions DC Dragons.

Lonestar Men had a first National Championships to remember, topping their group with a string of impressive results:

• 1-1 draw vs two-time past winners Greenwich
• 3-0 win vs local team Triangle
• 3-0 win vs eventual winners DC Dragons – WATCH THE FULL MATCH HERE

Unfortunately on the final day the Semi-Final match vs San Jose Sharks was rained out and had to be decided in a shoot-out, which Lonestar lost 2-1 after an extremely controversial umpiring call on the deciding shootout.

DC Dragons won their shoot out and went on to win the Final after losing heavily to Lonestar in the group stages.

Still a fantastic first effort and we’ll be back stronger next year for the Gold!
